Want to learn how to make your own clothes out of fabrics you love and styles that flatter your unique shape? This workshop starts right at the beginning with making a simple garment. You will have help with buying a suitable pattern and fabric before you even start the workshop and can meet in Lee Mill Fabrics to help choose those on the morning of the workshop. When you start the workshop, you will learn how to understand your pattern, cut it out in the right size (which is half the battle!), pin to fabric, sew it all together and small alterations to get a better fit.
It is a very personal workshop as there will only be 2 of you so that you get the expert one to one tuition with your garment. Pattern adjustments can be made so that you can make the garment again at home with the same fit after adjustments.
You will need to have completed the ‘Basic Sewing Workshop’ or have some basic sewing skills already. You should know how to wind a bobbin, thread your machine and be confident sewing simple seams.
Duration of workshop: 14 hours.
Two Day Workshop 10.00am – 5.00pm.
Please note: If you need to do this workshop on a weekend, it will cost an extra £50 due to limited availability. Weekdays are much easier to schedule.
Number of places: 2 max.
Cost: £200. (£250 on a weekend)
