This workshop is all about learning how to complete various types of fastenings, including zips, bias binding and buttonholes using the settings and feet on your own machine. You can choose to make a simple zip up purse or an iPad cover using these fastening techniques. Zips are not as scary as you think so come along and find out for yourself!

Duration of workshop: 3 hours..

Number of places: 2-4 max.

Cost: £35.

Fabrics can be purchased by the metre and fat quarters at the workshop.  You can request a photo of current fabrics in stock to help you decide before you come. You can also bring your own. I recommend using 2-3 different fabrics within the design.
I would suggest a handful of fat quarters to bring along in a range of colours to choose from if you bring your own.

I have completed three workshops with Helen. I am an absolute beginner and have learnt so much. Helen does not assume that you have skills but it’s a good idea to start on the Basics Course which I found very helpful. I have gained confidence and been able to make several projects at home. The Fastenings Workshop is ideal to learn how to make buttonholes, bias binding and insert zips.Helen is very patient and generous with her time to all her customers. It’s a enjoyable time at the Workshops and highly recommended.
