This Advanced Course is for those who have completed the first 8 week course, and have completed their well fitted toile. Using your well fitted block, you will be able to develop your pattern cutting skills further and work at your own pace to create one or more dresses during the course, or develop a range of advanced skills. Helen will help you work on necklines, sleeves and skirts as well as any design feature you may want to learn to pattern cut to develop your dress ideas.
You can work at your own pace during this course but Helen will be on hand to make sure you get the most out of your time.
During this course, you can work on a brand new garment, learn all about creating seams instead of darts, or create a mini portfolio of techniques using the book. The choice is yours.
Helen will be offering many professional tips along the way to help you pattern cut and sew your choice of garments.

Duration of course: 8 x 3 hours.
Number of places: 6 max.
Cost: £360. Coffee, tea and biscuits will be provided.
Where: The workshop will be held in Three Crosses Community Centre, Swansea.
What to bring: You will need to have a copy of ‘Dressmaking. The Easy Guide’. You should bring your own sewing machine but you can borrow one if you need. You will also need pattern paper and calico for each week. A full tools list will be sent once the course is booked. I will have everything available to use, but it will help to have your own kit each week.
What if you can’t come one week: If you are unable to attend one week, there may be opportunities to attend another session to catch up but this is not guaranteed.
